Measure the full footprint

• Finished width and depth — Tape the complete footprint, not just the seat width.
• Main walking path — Protect the route people use repeatedly rather than an unused decorative gap.
• Door and drawer swing — Open moving parts while the taped sofa footprint is on the floor.
• Coffee-table or desk clearance — Test standing, chair pull-back, and normal reach instead of relying on a floor-plan screenshot.
