A measured approach to buying a sofa you cannot try first.
Start with the room and route
Write down the wall width, available depth, ceiling and door clearance, plus the narrowest stair or elevator turn. Tape the finished footprint on the floor, leaving a walking lane and room for tables. Then compare package dimensions and weights; a sofa can fit the living room but fail the journey there.
Inspect the important fine print
Check seat height and depth against a sofa you already like. Ask about foam construction, fabric care, removable covers, recovery timing, and warranty exclusions. Before checkout, read the return window from delivery date, who pays return shipping, and whether original packaging is required. Save screenshots of the listing and terms.
The best-looking option is not a good buy if you cannot comfortably sit on it, maintain it, or return it.
