Define your own comfort
Do you lounge sideways, sit upright, or share the sofa with two adults? The same deep, soft seat can delight one person and strain another's posture. Use the seat height and depth numbers to compare with furniture you already like. Look for descriptions of support layers rather than relying only on 'plush' or 'firm' labels.
Reduce the online risk
If you cannot test it, read the comfort-return terms, including pickup, restocking, and who pays shipping. Check whether the seat cushions are reversible, whether the cover is removable, and whether the arms provide usable support. In a small apartment, tape the footprint on the floor and leave room to walk around it.
The box is a shipping format; comfort is the relationship between your body and the finished sofa.
