Build a seat for two hours, not a showroom minute.
Define the lounge position
If you stretch out, measure usable seat depth and width between arms. A chaise or ottoman adds legroom but needs floor clearance. If several people watch together, check whether the middle seat feels as good as the ends and whether everyone can see the screen.
Keep the room workable
Leave a route to the kitchen even when feet are up. Provide a stable place for drinks and blankets. Soft upholstery is inviting, but a seat that sinks too far can become uncomfortable over a full film. Try sitting for longer or verify a realistic return option online.
