A good reading seat is about support and light.
Set the posture
If you read upright, a back that supports you and a seat that allows your feet to reach the floor may matter more than oversized depth. A small sofa can let you turn sideways, but check whether its arms are comfortable for leaning. Try the actual reading position if you can.
Complete the corner
Put a lamp over the page rather than into your eyes and keep a small table within reach. Leave a walking route and access to a window or outlet. A throw and back pillow can tune a sofa that is close to right; they cannot solve a seat that is much too low or deep.
A reading corner earns its calm from furniture that supports a long chapter comfortably.
