The care tag is the starting point, not the last resort.

Identify the upholstery

Find the manufacturer's cleaning code and any cover instructions before applying water or a product. Vacuum gently with an upholstery attachment, including seams and under loose cushions. Blot a fresh spill with a clean cloth rather than rubbing it into the weave. Test any approved treatment in an inconspicuous place.

Avoid a bigger stain

Too much water can leave rings or affect underlying foam, and a removable cover is not automatically machine washable. Follow the specified method, let the area dry with ventilation, and avoid sitting on it while damp. For a large or unknown stain, a professional familiar with the fabric may be safer than improvisation.

Keep the care directions with your purchase records so the next spill does not become a guessing game.
