Look at the hard-to-change parts
Room fit, seat geometry, support construction, and upholstery quality affect daily life. Decorative cushions are easy to replace; a too-deep or too-low seat is not. Evaluate the warranty and whether components can be serviced. An expensive sofa is not automatically a durable one.
Count the full cost
Include delivery, taxes, optional setup, and potential return fees. Consider how many years you reasonably expect to use it in this room, without inventing a cost-per-sit precision you cannot know. A fabric that requires care you will not perform is a poor value for your household.
Good value is a sofa you can use comfortably and maintain at a total cost you understand.
