Survey the path
Measure stair width, railing clearance, headroom, and each landing. Check the box or module dimensions against the tightest turn, not just the stair itself. Ask whether the delivery service includes carrying items to your floor. A heavy compact carton may still need two capable adults.
Protect people and property
Clear the route and use non-slip footwear, gloves, and appropriate lifting help. Keep the load close and communicate at each turn. Do not lean a sofa over a railing or improvise a risky hoist. If the stair is too tight or the weight is too much, use a professional service.
The safe plan is the one that still works at the narrow landing halfway up.
