Save the information that makes a claim or move easier.
Keep evidence
Store the receipt, product page screenshot, warranty, care code, setup instructions, tracking numbers, and photos of any arrival damage. Mark the return deadline on a calendar. If the seller asks for a serial or batch label, photograph it before recycling the carton.
Keep only useful packaging
A large box may be impossible to store, and a compressed sofa may not fit back into it anyway. Read the return policy before disposal. Retain small connectors and tools in a labeled bag. Check local recycling rules for cardboard and plastic wrap; do not leave loose film where children or pets can reach it.
The best archive is digital, searchable, and made before a problem appears.
